Kieran Leonard

Kieran Leonard is a drummer, percussionist and Bodhrán specialist from Enniskillen, Co.Fermanagh.

He is recognised amongst his peers as one of the leading Bodhrán players and educators on the scene today, travelling all over the world performing and giving master classes. Competitively, Kieran has amassed 5 All-Ireland winning medals.

He has worked extensively with the incredibly popular touring production, “Celtic Legends” selling out shows across Europe & South America, and made his debut as a credited soloist recording on Academy Award winning composer John Powell’s “How to Train Your Dragon 2” soundtrack. 

Educated at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, London, Kieran graduated with a BMus & PgDip in Orchestral Percussion & Timpani whilst also studying Drums. He is very active on the London orchestral and session scene free-lancing regularly with the world renowned English National Opera as a percussionist.

Other recent projects have taken Kieran to the USA as the drummer for ‘Goitse’ 7 piece, recordings with the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland (Drum kit) and accompanying ‘Take That’ in the O2, London.

In his down time, he loves listening to and playing Jazz as well as keeping up with the latest sports action. He is proud to be a Protection Racket Artist, and is also thankful for the backing of Rob Forkner of Metloef Drums, and Gordon from Falconwood Tippers.
